Our company Kyoyu was established in February 1987 in Horikawa, Matsubara-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, as a wholesaler of Japanese products and accessories.
“佑(yu)” means to help someone.
The company name comes from the phrase, “Let’s do business that helps people in Kyoto.”
Japan is a small island country and it has many local production areas throughout.
Local factories are the foundation of the industries that created and supported Japan’s unique cultural identity.
Kyoyu’s products are made by working diligently with such factories and also ensuring a fair working environment for employees.
We place emphasis on the production site and value the relationship with “Product Creators”
Even in these changing times, we strive to create products that incorporate Japanese designs that preserve the cultural heritage of the Japanese people.

Due to business expansion, we will move to the Shichijo Inokuma Higashikaku Asahi Building in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City.

Established Higashiyu Soki Dye Studio Co., Ltd. as a sales office in Tokyo.

A retail store/sales office will be opened at Kokoro Yuzawa inside JR Echigo Yuzawa Station.

We will open a Japanese lifestyle goods retail store “Sakusou Kobo Takusuke” on Sun Street Kameido in Tokyo. (Closed)

“Creation Workshop Takusuke Kasuri Kaikan Store” opens in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, a retail store selling Japanese fashion accessories. (Closed)
